The Faculty of Sharia and Law at Thamar University Commemorates the Friday of Rajab with a Cultural and Oratory Event

■ In a cultural and faith-based context that recalls roots and renews awareness, and under the slogan "The Martyr Leader Moved with the Quran and Restored Our People's Faith-Based Identity," the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Thamar University organized a cultural and oratory event this morning to commemorate the Friday of Rajab, coinciding with the anniversary of the Martyr Leader 1447.

The event was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammad Mohammad Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University, and in the presence of the faculty leadership, its academic and administrative staff, and a group of students.

The event served to reaffirm the profound religious and historical significance of the Friday of Rajab in Yemeni consciousness, and to recall the meanings of the Quranic project founded by the Martyr Leader Mr. Hussein Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi. This project represented an intellectual and cultural transformation that restored the nation's faith-based compass, solidified the approach of awareness and resistance, and exposed the schemes of targeting and domination to which the peoples of the Islamic nation are subjected.

In his welcoming remarks, Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Bahla, the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, emphasized that commemorating this anniversary embodies the deep connection of Yemenis to their faith-based identity and reflects their historical awareness of their pioneering role in supporting the religion. He stressed the importance of strengthening this awareness among students as a cornerstone for building a balanced intellectual and moral character.

From his part, Dr. Bashir Qaddoum, the Vice Dean of the College for Academic Affairs, addressed the historical dimensions and cultural significance of the commemoration of the Friday of Rajab, describing it as the anniversary of Yemeni people's voluntary and faithful conversion to Islam. He pointed to the Yemenis' inherent purity of heart and genuine sense of belonging, which made them among the first nations to respond to the Islamic call. He reviewed the praise bestowed upon the people of Yemen and their status in the Prophet's biography, emphasizing that commemorating this anniversary represents a tribute to a glorious history of faith.

In his address, Mr. Hassan Al-Mawshki, the Consultant of the University Rector for Cultural Affairs, explained that faith-based identity is not merely a slogan, but a comprehensive system of values, stances and behaviors that has contributed to preserving the independence of Yemeni decision-making and enabled it to confront projects of hegemony and subservience, unlike regimes that abandoned their identity and lost their will. He affirmed that commemorating religious occasions constitutes a cultural lever that enhances awareness and fortifies society.

The event concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing purposeful cultural and intellectual activities, and consolidating Quranic awareness in a way that strengthens faith and national belonging, and contributes to preparing a generation that is aware of its role and responsibility towards its religion and nation.
