Al-Wihdah University Hospital Strengthens Humanitarian Partnership by Receiving Yaman Delegation

■ Professor Abdulsalam Al-Miqdad, the General Director of Al-Wihdah University Hospital in Maabar City, received a delegation from Yaman Foundation for Health and Humanitarian Development, headed by Dr. Turki Al-Masoudi, the Director of the Program at the Foundation, as a part of a field visit to the hospital's Maternity and Childhood Center.
This visit comes within the framework of the "Safe Maternity and Childhood Vouchers" program, implemented by Yaman Foundation with support from its partners. The program aims to improve access to obstetrics and healthcare services for mothers and children in priority areas and reduce the risks associated with unnecessary cesarean births.
The delegation was accompanied during its visit by a number of medical and administrative leaders, including the hospital's Financial Director, Mr. Abdullah Al-Samawi. The tour included the maternity, operating room, intensive care, nurseries and neonatal units, as well as the postpartum care departments.
During the tour, Dr. Al-Miqdad provided a detailed explanation of the capabilities of the Maternity and Childhood Center, its urgent needs and the daily challenges facing the medical staff in providing high-quality healthcare services, especially in light of the increasing pressure on the facility and the scarcity of resources and support.
Dr. Al-Miqdad emphasized the importance of these field visits conducted by leading health organizations such as Yaman, emphasizing that Al-Wihdah University Hospital represents a pivotal health pillar for the central region, playing a dual role in providing medical services and academic medical education.
He expressed his appreciation for the Foundation's initiative and efforts to support the hospital through effective humanitarian programs such as the Maternal Health Voucher Program.
From his part, Dr. Turki Al-Masoudi expressed his deep gratitude for the warm welcome received by the hospital administration, noting that the visit is a part of a national plan by Yaman Foundation aimed at strengthening partnerships with university hospitals and enabling the most needy groups to access safe healthcare services.
Dr. Al-Masoudi emphasized that Yaman will continue its humanitarian efforts to support healthcare facilities in Dhamar Governorate and work to expand the scope of health vouchers to enhance the stability of services in remote areas and marginalized communities.
