An expanded meeting at Thamar University discusses a comprehensive plan to develop Al-Wihdah University Hospital in Maabar

■ In a strategic step toward strengthening the health and educational infrastructure at Thamar University and developing the medical services provided to the community, Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, received this morning in his office Professor Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Miqdad, the General Director of Al-Wihdah University Hospital and Professor of Hepatology and Gastroenterology at the University's College of Medicine.

The meeting was accompanied by a number of administrative and medical staff from the hospital.

Following the reception, the University Rector chaired an expanded meeting that included a number of university leaders, including Dr. Mohammed Hutram, the General Secretary of the University, Mr. Jamal Al-Bahri, the Head of the Media and Public Relations Department, Mr. Khalid Al-Eshawi, the General Director of Public Relations, Mr. Abdulghani Al-Hajjaji, the General Director of Financial Affairs, and Mr. Majid Al-Washli, the General Director of the University Rector's Office.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Abdullah Al-Sultan, the Head of Nursing, and Mr. Abdullah Al-Samawi, the Hospital's Financial Officer.

The meeting discussed a number of key issues related to the development of the university hospital and strengthening cooperation mechanisms between its administration and the university's medical colleges, ensuring improved academic performance, educational services provided to university students and healthcare services provided to citizens.

During the meeting, Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Miqdad gave a detailed presentation of the hospital's future aspirations. He also reviewed the most notable achievements made over the past period despite the challenges, emphasizing the importance of continued institutional support from the university leadership to continue the modernization process.

The meeting concluded with an agreement on a package of measures that will bring about a qualitative shift in the hospital environment, both in terms of infrastructure and academic, financial and administrative conditions, in line with the broad aspirations of the university leadership.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Mohammed Al-Haifi considered the academic year 1447 to be a year of development and modernization for Al-Wihdah University Hospital, calling for concerted efforts from all parties to achieve this goal at all levels.
