This competition is part of the university's activities celebrating the anniversary of the Prophet's birth, embodying the meanings of love and emulation of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, and drawing inspiration from his light, guidance, and noble life, under the slogan of God Almighty's words: {محمد رسول الله والذين معه ،اشدأ على الكفار ، رحماء بينهم.}
The competition was inaugurated this morning by Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, on behalf of the University Rector, in the presence of the Rector's Assistant for Centers Affairs, Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, the Vice Dean of the Institute of Continuing Education for Student Affairs, Dr. Salah Al-Qawsi, the General Director of University Activities, Ahmed Al-Awamri, as well as a number of academics, administrative staff and participating students.
In his opening remarks, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai expressed his gratitude to the University Rector, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, for his patronage of the competition, his interest in the Holy Quran and its sciences, and his continuous support for student and cultural activities. Dr. Al-Rifai pointed out that the competition includes three main categories, memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran, poetry, presentation and elocution, and chanting.
This opens up broad opportunities for students to showcase their talents and abilities, and to invest their energies in fields that combine the light of the Quran, the beauty of words, and the sweetness of voice. It also instills in them the meaning of emulating the Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), whom the Lord of the Worlds testified to, saying: {And indeed, you are of a great moral character}.
Today's competitions, dedicated to memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran, witnessed the participation of 43 students (18 male and 25 female), who competed in the various memorization categories.
