Thamar University Commemorates the Prophet's Birthday (1448) with a Central University Event

■ Thamar University and the University Student Forum commemorated the Prophet's birthday (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) today with a central event celebrating this auspicious religious occasion. The event was held under the banner of the verse: { محمد رسول الله والدين معه أشاد الى الكفار، رحماء بينهم } (Quran 48:29), with wide participation from university leaders, faculty, administrators, and students.
At the event held in the Palestine Hall at the university, the Rector of Thamar University, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, emphasized in his welcoming remarks the importance of commemorating the Prophet's birthday as an occasion to recall the noble life of the Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and to emulate his values, principles, and ethics in all aspects of life. He commended the university's staff and students for their attendance and participation in the commemoration.
From his part, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, addressed the audience, discussing the significance of commemorating the Prophet's birthday and how the occasion represents a platform to reflect on the character of the Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and his approach to building individuals and society. He stressed the importance of reflecting the meaning of the occasion in the behavior of students and university staff and strengthening their connection to the values of the Prophet Mohammed .
The event included an invitation to participate in the activities held in the Prophet's Square on Thamar University campus, reflecting the community and student presence in commemorating the Prophet's birthday.
On the cultural side, Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Al-Bahla presented a segment featuring some of the most famous and eloquent poems in praise of the Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). He showcased the richness of Arabic poetry in expressing love for the Prophet and his esteemed place in the hearts of the Muslim community. He then recited a poem in praise of the Prophet, followed by a poem by Dr. Jamal Al-Fatimi, creating a scene that blended the religious occasion with literary and poetic expression.
The event also included a variety of musical and artistic performances, including a traditional dance (Al-Bar'a) performed by the Prophet Mohammed Ensemble, as well as other musical pieces by the same group, and a distinguished theatrical performance that reflected the atmosphere of the occasion and expressed joy on this religious anniversary.
The event was attended by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabiba, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Rector's Assistant for Centers Affairs, Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, and the University General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Hutrum, in addition to a number of deans, department heads, directors general of public administrations, and academic and administrative leaders and staff, as well as students from across the university's various sectors, colleges, institutes, units, and centers.
The event was held as part of Thamar University's program to commemorate the Prophet's birthday, aiming to enhance the presence of religious and cultural events within the university environment and connect university students with the life, values, principles, and ethics of the Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
