Thamar University Launches Training Workshop to Develop Student Representatives' Skills in Preparation for the Prophet's Birthday Celebrations

■ Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, inaugurated today a training workshop to develop the skills of student representatives from the university's various colleges. The workshop, organized by the Student Affairs Office in cooperation with the University Student Forum, is being attended by 100 representatives and will continue for two days. Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, and a number of university leaders and workshop organizers were also present.

The workshop began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by an official opening address in which the university president emphasized the importance of this workshop in preparing and qualifying student representatives to fulfill their organizational and cultural roles, and in strengthening the spirit of responsibility and teamwork, thus contributing to the advancement of student activities within the university.

Professor Dr.  Mohammed Al-Haifi stated that Thamar University places great importance on developing the capabilities of student leaders, recognizing them as active partners in implementing university activities and programs. He emphasized that student representatives serve as the link between college administrations and students, requiring them to possess the administrative, communication, and cultural skills necessary to perform their duties efficiently and effectively.

He explained that the workshop is part of the university's preparations to commemorate the Prophet's birthday (Mawlid) for the year 1448, and the early planning for accompanying events and activities, most notably the central event that Thamar University will host, ensuring excellent organization and effective student participation.

During the workshop, the University Rector presented a scientific analysis of the Prophet's birthday logo, offering a scientific and engineering analysis of its components and symbols, and the religious, cultural, and national significance it conveys. He stressed the importance of understanding these meanings and conveying them to students to strengthen their awareness and connection to the Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).

The workshop includes several specialized training modules, covering administrative and organizational skills development, communication skills, strengthening faith-based identity, and introducing the roles of the Student Affairs Office and the University Student Forum, as well as the mechanisms for preparing and organizing activities and events commemorating the Prophet's birthday.

The workshop aims to build the capacities of student representatives, enhance their organizational and cultural skills, and strengthen their role in the success of university activities. This contributes to creating a more effective university environment and instilling values ​​of cooperation, discipline, and positive participation among students.

During the workshop, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, emphasized in his address to the student representatives that the workshop represents an important milestone in preparing and qualifying student leaders, developing their leadership, organizational, and cultural capabilities, and enhancing their role in serving their peers and actively participating in various university activities.

He explained that preparations for commemorating the Prophet's birthday are not limited to organizational aspects, but extend to instilling the meaning of emulating the Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), drawing inspiration from his values ​​in human development, strengthening faith-based identity, and establishing a culture of responsibility, discipline, and teamwork among university students.

From his part, the head of the University Student Forum, Mohammed Bajah, explained that the workshop is part of the preparatory program implemented by the Forum in partnership with the Deanship of Student Affairs. Its aim is to build the capacities of student representatives and refine their skills in leadership, management, communication, and institutional work, thus enabling them to play their role in organizing student activities and events.

He emphasized that celebrating the Prophet's birthday is an opportunity to draw inspiration from his guidance in sincerity, generosity, and community service, and to embody these values ​​in practical initiatives that enhance awareness and faith-based identity, and contribute to the success of the events and activities that Thamar University will host on this great occasion.
