Official Commendation for Thamar University's Performance During Discussion of its Annual Report in the Higher Education Sector

■ The Higher Education and Scientific Research Sector discussed today the annual performance report of Thamar University, as a part of the presentation and discussion of annual performance reports for Yemeni universities.
During the meeting, the report submitted by the Rector of Thamar University, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, was reviewed and discussed, with the participation of the Vice Rectors of the University: Dr. Abdulkarim Zabiba for Graduate Studies, Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai for Student Affairs, and Dr. Adel Al-Ansi for Academic Affairs, in addition to the Head of the University's Planning Department, Dr. Hamoud Al-Mulaiki.
The report included performance indicators in the areas of strategic planning, leadership and governance, teaching and learning, automation and digital transformation, faculty members, student statistics, student activities, quality assurance and continuous improvement, graduate studies and scientific research, human and financial resources, and community services, in addition to the most prominent challenges and future recommendations.
At the meeting, the Undersecretary of the Higher Education Sector and Chairman of the Discussion Committee, Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, commended the outstanding level of Thamar University's performance report, reflecting the institutional and academic development the university has achieved recently. He emphasized that the university has solidified its position as one of the leading public universities, which, thanks to its leadership, has been able to develop its capabilities, enhance its academic presence, and serve the community, making it a vital pillar in the process of human development and national progress.
He affirmed that the daily meetings to discuss university and college reports represent a qualitative step towards building an accurate national database on the state of higher education and establishing scientific indicators that will assist the Ministry's leadership in making decisions and formulating development policies based on reliable information. Furthermore, these meetings promote a culture of continuous evaluation and improvement within higher education institutions.
From his part, the Rector of Thamar University praised the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research's commitment to evaluating and assessing university performance, considering these meetings an important opportunity to reinforce strengths, address weaknesses, and elevate academic, research, and administrative performance. The university affirmed its commitment to incorporating all observations and recommendations presented by the discussion committee and transforming them into actionable plans that contribute to developing institutional performance and enhancing the quality of outputs.
The discussion was attended by members of the discussion committee, the General Secretary of Thamar University, Dr. Mohammed Hutrum, and several university directors.
