A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Sana'a today between Thamar University represented by the Center for Water, Environment and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water and Environment represented by the General Authority for Water Resources.

The memorandum was signed by the chairman of the General Authority for Water Resources, Engineer Hadi Quraia, and the Dean of the Center for Water, Environment and Climate Change at Thamar University, Professor Dr. Nabil Al-Ariq, and was approved by the Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Abdulraqeeb Al-Sharmani, and the Rector of Thamar University, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi.

The memorandum of understanding included the accreditation of the Center for Water, Environment and Climate Change to the Ministry of Water and Environment represented by the Water Materials Authority as an Academic Governmental entity to provide scientific and technical consultations related to the areas of Integrated Water Resources Management Strengthen Technical and scientific cooperation in scientific, research and technical fields and benefit from expertise in the field of Integrated Management of Water Resources in accordance with the regulations, laws and regulations in force.

According to the memorandum, the Center for Water, Environment and Climate Change adopts the qualification of the staff of the General Authority for Water Resources in various fields of Integrated Management of Water Resources .

Following the signing, the Minister of Water and Environment stressed the Ministry's keenness to strengthen cooperation with Thamar University represented by the Center for Water, Environment and Climate Change, to benefit from the Center's expertise in scientific, research and technical fields.

From his part, the Rector of Thamar University expressed his pleasure in signing the memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Water and Environment represented by the Water Resources Authority as an initial step in the exchange of technical expertise between the Center and the Authority, in order to enhance the outputs of the Center in the service of water projects and sustainable development.

The chairman of the Water Resources Authority, Engineer Quraia, and the Dean of the Center for Water, Environment and Climate Change at Thamar University, professor Dr. Al-Areeq, pointed out the importance of signing the memorandum of understanding to expand the areas of cooperation and partnership between the two sides.

They stressed their keenness to benefit from the academic expertise of Thamar University in the field of Integrated Water Resources Management and the qualification of cadres in the Technical, Research and Administrative Fields.
