Prof. Talib Al-Nahari, the University rector, checked the condition of Thamar University students who have been sent by the university to Wuhan, China, for higher studies. Wuhan city is witnessing these days a deadly epidemic, coronavirus, which is killing hundreds of Chinese everyday while there is a great inability by China and the international community to fight this virus.

Prof. Al-Nahari telephoned the university-delegated students at Wuhan, China, and reassured about their health, financial conditions and the ways they follow to prevent themselves from the virus. He discussed with them the possibility of evacuating them from the afflicted city and bringing them back to their homeland. Then he declared that Thamar University would bear the costs of travel tickets and all the necessary financial expenses for all Thamar students there to help them leave China and return home.

In return, Thamar University students in Wuhan, China, expressed their endless thanks and gratitude for this humanitarian initiative represented by the leadership of Thamar University. They assured that this initiative came in such a difficult time where everyone else abandoned the Yemenis in Wuhan, despite the repeated appeals of Yemeni students lately sent via media and television channels, calls that got no answer. Thamar University students in Wuhan also looked forward to evacuating other Yemeni students sent by other Yemeni Universities in the similar way Thamar University is doing with their students to save them from the nightmare of death bothering them every moment.
