Thamar University Launches Specialized Training Course in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Disaster Management for Medical Students

■ As a part of Thamar University's efforts to enhance practical training and improve the quality of medical education outcomes, Dr. Hatem Al-Duais, the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, and Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, inaugurated this morning at the Faculty of Medical Sciences a free intensive training course in "Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Disaster Management," with the participation of dozens of interns and final year students from the faculty.
The inauguration took place in the presence of Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabiba, the Vice-Rector of the University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector of the University for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, the Rector's Assistant for Centers Affairs, Hadi Ammar, the Undersecretary for the Basic Education Sector, Dr. Mohammed Hutrum, the General Secretary of the University, as well as Dr. Adel Emran, the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, the Vice Deans, the General Secretary of the Faculty; and a number of faculty members, university leaders, and academic and administrative staff.
In his remarks during the inauguration, Dr. Hatem Al-Duais expressed his pleasure at visiting Thamar University and witnessing its distinguished academic and training activities. He noted that the high-quality training programs and activities implemented by the university reflect its commitment to preparing qualified personnel who possess the necessary knowledge and practical skills to perform their professional roles efficiently and effectively.
The Deputy Minister commended the Faculty of Medical Sciences for organizing such specialized training programs, emphasizing the significant role of CPR and disaster management courses in qualifying students and enhancing their preparedness to handle emergencies and serve the community. He also noted their contribution to raising health awareness and promoting medical literacy.
Dr. Al-Duais reiterated his gratitude to the leadership of Thamar University, represented by Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi and the University'sVice Rectors, praising the university's ongoing efforts to develop the educational and training process. He also commended Thamar University Hospital for its distinguished position in providing healthcare services and clinical training for students.
Addressing the students participating in the course, he stressed the importance of understanding the humanitarian mission of the medical profession and providing healthcare with responsibility and high professionalism. He wished them success and hoped they would be exemplary in serving their community and country. He also conveyed to them the greetings of Mr. Hassan Abdullah Al-Saadi, the Minister of Education and Scientific Research, and his wishes for their continued excellence and success.
From his part, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi welcomed the Deputy Minister and his accompanying delegation, expressing his appreciation for the visit, which reflects the Ministry's leadership's interest in public universities and their academic and training programs. He emphasized that Thamar University places great importance on applied training and professional development as a cornerstone in preparing qualified medical and healthcare professionals capable of meeting the needs of society and keeping pace with modern advancements in the health sector.
The University Rector noted that the course is part of the college and university's plan to enhance students' practical skills and connect academic knowledge with field application, thereby contributing to raising the professional competence of graduates and enabling them to perform their duties with
high efficiency in various health institutions.
