The Faculty of Medical Sciences holds a workshop to approve and characterize four Master's Programs in Laboratory Medicine

■ Sponsored by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, The College of Medical Sciences and the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance at Thamar University organized today the discussion approval and description of Master's Programs in Laboratory Medicine, in the Zahrawi Hall at the College.

The Rector of the University pointed out that the Master in Laboratory Medicine at the Faculty of Medical Sciences Thamar University is characterized by great diversity through a range of specialties in the Branches and Departments of Laboratory Medicine.

He added that the Faculty of Medical Sciences is rapidly moving towards success, especially by choosing to qualify researchers in important programs such as Laboratory Medicine which is an exact specialty of the Faculty of Medical Sciences which is ancient at the University and has been reopened .

He addressed the researchers: accustom yourselves to the discussion and listen carefully to what is being put forward, because your specialization is important, your faculty is qualitative, and your works are special works of an important human nature, as you are dealing with the most honorable thing that Allah created, which is man, who is honesty in your hands. The Vice-Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdulkarim Zabibah praised the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the efforts of the workshop organizers and considered the opening of these specialties in graduate studies a qualitative leap for the Faculty of Medical Sciences which adheres to the standards of Graduate Studies at Thamar University, as it is not allowed to open any graduate programs in any specialty at Thamar University only after describing it, holding workshops to approve and characterize it and approving programs from the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance at the University.

He added that our University's Graduate Programs and outputs are thoroughly scientifically studied, and are compatible with the needs of society, the requirements of the labor market, quality programs and academic accreditation . The head of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance thanked the Rector of the University and his Deputies for High Studies and Student Affairs for their attendance and interest in the workshops held by the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance.

He pointed out that the Center and the College were keen to involve two important elements in such workshops along with the Faculty members of the College, who are the beneficiaries of these specialties, the labor market represented in this workshop by Dr. Hammoud Al-Mawshki, the Chairman of Thamar General Hospital, as well as the most prominent participants in the workshop are the students of the College and its researchers. For his part, Dr. Adel Emran, the Dean of the College of Medical Sciences, thanked the Rector of the University and his Deputies for their effective contribution and important guiding words, and thanked the attendees for their interest in his College's Graduate Programs.

Dr. Emran said that this workshop is only a criterion for the degree of commitment of the College to walk within the highest standards of its programs, through which it aims to produce outstanding scientific outputs, and with the highest standards, pointing out that the College has already described Bachelor's Programs so that it was able to graduate cadres capable of serving the labor market, and with the highest standards of efficiency and competence. He pointed out that the methodological description presented at this workshop is based on the highest international standards, stressing that the outputs of the college are attracted by the local and international labor market, and neighboring countries and that a number of the outputs of the College were attracted as Faculty members in prestigious International Universities, including Malaysian Universities. Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Haifi, the quality Officer at the College of Medicine, one of the trainers of the workshop along with Dr. Abdulqawi Al-Shamakh, the Quality Officer at the College of Medical Sciences, said that this variety of workshops is valid only in the presence of the main axis of the educational process, which is the student for whom the University originated, exercised its functions, and gained its importance, and this is the right choice and compatible with the quality requirements and academic accreditation programs.

The workshop concluded with the approval of the characterization of four Master's Programs in Laboratory Medicine, specializing in: Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Clinical Biochemistry, Parasites and Medical Insects, Public Health and Epidemiology

The workshop was attended by the Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Consultant of the Rector of the University for Legal and Administrative Affairs, the Leadership of the College from the Vice-Deans and Heads of Departments, the Directors of General Relations and Media, and the General Secretary of the college.
