...An Intellectual Seminar at the Faculty of Arts on the History of the Palestinian Struggle and Resistance

An Intellectual Seminar at the Faculty of Arts on the History of the Palestinian Struggle and Resistance Thamar University Media / Saqr Abu Hassan / November 5, 2023 ■ The Faculty of Arts at Thamar university organized today an intellectual seminar entitled" The Palestinian Issue, a History of Struggle and Resistance" with the participation of elite Academics and Researchers. During the seminar, Dr. Abdulkarim Zabibah, thr Vice-Rector of Thamar University for Higher Studies, pointed out that the only people who have adopted the cultural and military movement is Yemen, and the issue of Palestine is still present in its diary. He said that if it were not for the axis of resistance, the Palestinian cause would have ended and died a long time ago, so the resistance was with stones and the support of the axis of resistance for the Palestinian cause continued to reach the stage of rockets and marches. The Vice-Rector of the University stressed that the continuation of resistance in the end comes victory and as long as you resist, you resurrect the issue again. Without the presence of traitors, the tragedies of the Palestinian people would not have continued until today reviewing the role of traitors in discouraging the spirit of resistance in the Arab and Islamic conscience and pointing out that the continued media pumping that the Arab Psyche is weak and submissive, and we are in fact strong, considering resistance the only option for liberation. He continued by saying that the Hypocrites are always the ones who weaken the nation, and if there were no traitors inside the nation, the reality would not be the reality now. He added that when there is a spirit of resistance, there is victory and do not believe the traitors and mercenaries who use the psychological factor to discourage the spirit of resistance, and resistance is now stronger than before. Dr. Adel Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector of the University for Academic Affairs stressed in his intervention that Israel is not a state but an entity without history or roots, a colonial entity, and its project is not Palestine but all Arab countries. He also said tha tour resistance to Israel is a long-term project which is to nip this entity in the bud and prevent its expansion to other countries. He pointed out that the Arab laggard in his victory over Palestine produced a brutal Israel for us, and the biggest example of the Arab failure is the failure of the Palestinian Leader Abdu Al-Qadir Al-Husseini who demanded weapons from the Arabs and in the end fought with his comrades defending Palestine. Asking about the role of the intellectual, he added that the role of the intellectual comes through activating social media platforms on the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict, the role of history, the importance of spreading awareness, and immunizing the Arab mind and Yemeni in particular from the media pumping which reflects negatively on the spirit of resistance. We are in a holy battle, and we have lived to be witnesses of it. In addition, Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, thr Vice-Rector of Thamar University for Student Affairs said that belief in the cause we are defending is a central and fundamental issue and expresses the conscience of all free people. He also said that we are facing a great attack and arrogance by the West and to confront the enemy, a popular presence is necessary to mobilize the inner soul, because the enemy, no matter how arrogant, must be broken because the owner of the right is strong. He added that we are defending a basic right, the land, the offer, and religion is the true homeland of every believer and victory comes thanks to God Almighty. He pointed out that what happened from the French, Italian, and British colonialism in most countries of the world will be their fate at the end of the scope of breaking in front of the solidity of the Arab and Islamic peoples and faith in the cause. From his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Amin Al-Jabr pointed out that the Palestinian issue is a real issue, and there is a difference between right and wrong. He stressed that the perverse normalization practiced by some Arab and Islamic countries reflects the extent of the Arabs ' weakness. He added that the Palestinian cause is the cause of the free and all Arab and Islamic efforts must unite to confront the Zionist killing machine that is committed daily against civilians in Gaza. Moreover, Dr. Najib Al-Warafi during a paper entitled "The Class Dimension in the Arab-Israeli Conflict" said that the seminar is being organized, and our hearts are breaking because of the daily massacres and the use of excessive violence against civilians in the Gaza Strip. Dr. Al-Warafi stressed that the massacres that are being committed now are not new but have been going on for 75 years which is evidence of the legendary steadfastness of the Palestinian people. He pointed out that solidarity comes at a minimum in this circumstance which translates as prostration and silence over those crimes. He also pointed out that the Zionists' era of using force against innocent people since time immemorial they understand the murderers of the prophets, passing through the killing of children and women. He discussed the various aspects of the conflict which has become multidimensional. He said that the class dimension sheds light on the scientific level, and this dimension represents the colonial pole and the interaction is now in the conflict, so Israel is a hand of the West, and it is a reckless and wayward hand, the West manages the war and the conflict. He added that the foci of the conflict have disappeared and ended with the exception of the Palestinian issue which reveals the class dimension in view of the East as weak and fragile states. He considered the countries of America, France and Britain to represent the colonial countries devoid of mercy, humanity, and see only their interests. He said Israel was built on an ethnic and class basis against the world and the East in particular. Dr. Fadhl Al-Omaisi, the Deputy Dean of Faculty of Arts for Student Affairs in a working paper entitled "The History of Failure", preferred " why should we defend Palestine?". We must show society and people of all classes why we must defend Palestine, because it is a sacred Arab and religious duty, a psychological strategy, and central to preserving the Arab and Islamic right," He stressed that the defense of Palestine is a historical and Islamic task. He added that we are entitled to defend the holy places, and the goal of the Zionists is basically colonial, so we must confront this colonization and defend Palestine. Reviewing the stages of the failure of the Palestinian cause, he began the year 1890 with the beginning of the Zionist thought of finding a national homeland for the Jews, passing through the Balfour Promise until today of crimes against innocent people in Gaza. Al-Omaisi classified the Arab-Israeli conflict into five stages, the first is the Zionist project and the wave of immigration to Palestine, the stages of Palestinian resistance, the second is the military conflict with the United Arab front and the establishment of the armed Palestinian resistance, the third stage is a setback 1967 and the subsequent Arab failure and the policy of Judaization practiced by Zionism against Palestine while the fourth stage is the waves of normalization and the two-state solution and the fifth is a new Middle Eastern regime which the West seeks to rent with a new form of international relations with Israel. Arab interventions in the course of the Arab-Israeli conflict are miserable and weak. Dr. Aziz Al-Aqraa, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Academic Affairs in his working paper, considered America the "Head of Evil". He considered the massacres taking place in Palestine to be an American project to obliterate the Palestinian identity. He praised the role of the resistance movements in Palestine which brought the issue back to the forefront and revived the spirit of resistance among the Arab and Islamic peoples. He called on the leaders of the Arab countries to come to Palestine to the prophets and addressed them by saying that by your actions you represent yourselves and you do not represent the Islamic spirit and Arabism, but you have slipped away from your values. Reviewing some of the heroic epics carried out by Muslims against Jews since the dawn of history, he said that in Islamic history, and anti-Jews since the dawn of Islam, we have great heroic stances, Muslims have avenged a woman who revealed her nakedness and opened "Omuria" because of a woman screaming "WA Muatasimah" and now thousands of women are being killed, imprisoned by the Zionists, and everyone is silent. Wondering what history will write ?. It will write that Gaza is fighting alone, and next to it 22 an Arab country that has remained silent, history will write that Gaza was stronger than everyone and that daily massacres happen as we watch. We call on everyone to be at the stage of defending Palestine in all ways and in ways that raise awareness and support Palestine. From his part, Dr. Essam Wasel, the General Director of Libraries at Thamar University, pointed out that the Arab ruler has turned into a Frightened Rabbit and the general situation will be before the Al-Aqsa Flood and after. He pointed to the Arab and Islamic inaction which he described as"Suspicious". He added that the most beautiful thing is patience and the strength that the Arab peoples from some countries have, and Yemen is a model of resistance, steadfastness and humanity, and the Arab would like to express but is suppressed by the regimes that direct their weapons to the Arab chest. During his speech, he pointed to the radical transformation in the Arab-Israeli conflict, including the establishment of a university course in Yemeni Universities in the Liberated areas under the name of "Arab-Israeli conflict" which creates generations that are anti-Israel and the nucleus for a future change. In addition, Dr. Fahd Al-Dhalei, the Head of the Geography Department said that the Palestinian environment has been greatly damaged by the Israeli aggression on Palestine. He added that when the Zionist occupation noticed the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, they began to confiscate their sources of livelihood to keep the Citizen away from his cause. He also pointed out that Israel is destroying Palestine from all sides, including occupying agricultural land and seizing water sources, deliberately destroying natural resources in Palestine, in addition to establishing sewage channels to villages and Palestinian homes. He said that water, electricity, and means of life are being denied to the Palestinians, and it is a dirty war targeting the land and people of Palestine, so this translates into Zionist brutality against innocent people in Palestine. He added that the use of bombs and deadly weapons is reflected in the form of significant pollution in the air and the environment which is part of the dirty war against the Palestinian people. Dr. Al-Dhalei stressed that the Palestinian people are armed with faith in defending their land and Homeland. In turn, the Researcher Mr. Khalid Al-Falahi said that the Palestinian issue is the main focus of the Islamic and Arab nation, and the conflict between the Arab and the Zionist is a conflict that extends for generations. He pointed to the efforts of the West in whistling for the Palestinian cause with European support and Arab complicity, in light of the legendary steadfastness of the Palestinian people. Mr. Al-Falahi presented a working paper entitled "Zionism between Theory and Practice" that the Jews throughout history have been an useless material for the West. He said that Israel is a functional state supported by the West and seeks its continuation, because the Jews contributed to the industry of Western capital. He added that the Jews dominated the industry of stock markets, currencies, investing in money, taking advantage of economic contradictions to increase wealth. As for the historical path, he said that Herzl reduced the Jewish contradiction, laid down the basic principles of the Jews, moving the indigenous population to exile, displacement, or extermination of the population, and the West has a black history of massacres and occupation.
