Thamar University Organizes a Workshop to Develop Services and Simplify Procedures

■ Under the generous patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, in cooperation with the University's General Secretariat, organized a workshop this morning entitled, "Developing Services and Simplifying Procedures at Thamar University." The workshop was held in the Academic Development Center Hall of the General Secretariat.

In the presence of the university's administrative and academic leadership, the workshop opened with verses from the Holy Quran and the national anthem. This was followed by a speech by the University Rector, the Event's Sponsor, delivered by his Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabiba.

Dr. Zabiba expressed the importance of supporting such activities targeting administrative staff, emphasizing the need to unify procedural concepts and enhance the efficiency of services provided by the university, thus contributing to improving the quality of the university environment.

Dr. Zabiba also commended this qualitative step, which aligns with the national vision and the aspirations of the National Salvation Government to build modern and effective institutions.

In the same context, Professor Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, explained that this step aligns with national trends toward administrative modernization and the adoption of smart work methods.

He emphasized that simplifying procedures will positively impact student and beneficiary satisfaction. He also emphasized that the expected positive impact of this workshop on the services provided to students, noting that simplifying procedures will significantly contribute to improving their university experience and leave them with an unforgettable memory of an important stage in their lives at Thamar University.

In his speech, Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and the Dean of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, emphasized the importance of this workshop in achieving the university's goals of improving its services and facilitating procedures for beneficiaries.

He noted that the center pays special attention to developing and enhancing the efficiency of administrative staff to keep pace with aspirations toward digital transformation, as a practical step toward modernizing work mechanisms and enhancing the efficiency of institutional performance at Thamar University.

From his part, Dr. Mohammed Hutram, the General Secretary of the University and the Head of the Services and Procedures Simplification and Development Team, indicated that this workshop will be an important step towards implementing a comprehensive program to develop services and simplify procedures across the university's various units.

He emphasized the importance of unifying concepts and training participants on methodologies for analyzing and designing procedures to serve the interests of students and beneficiaries and contribute to reducing red tape and reducing time and costs.

He also provided a comprehensive review of the project's objectives and the next stages of its implementation across all university units, explaining that this workshop is the first in a series of specialized workshops targeting the work teams involved in providing services to the public.

The workshop included a detailed presentation of the concepts of "service and procedure," service classifications (smart, electronic, traditional) and an analysis of existing services using documentation templates.

It also included group discussions during which participants were divided into four groups to analyze selected services and present proposals for improving performance and developing services based on their field experiences.

The treainers and the team members,  Mr. Ali Al-Jamal, the General Director of Planning and Statistics, and Mr. Ali Al-Washli, the General Director of Benefits, presented several topics, including defining service and procedure, classifying services, analyzing current procedures and mapping them.

At the conclusion of the workshop, a comprehensive evaluation of the event's progress was reviewed and certificates of participation were distributed to the targeted attendees, emphasizing the importance of their role in the success of this important national project.
