Thamar University Opens Bids for a Modern CT Scanner for Al-Wihda University Hospital in Ma'abar

■ As a part of its sustainable institutional development initiatives, Al-Wihda University Teaching Hospital in Ma'abar held the opening of bids this morning for a public tender to purchase, supply, install, and operate a modern 128-slice CT scanner. This is a significant step aimed at enhancing the hospital's diagnostic and medical capabilities and improving the level of health and educational services it provides.
The bid opening was presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University Hospital in Ma'abar, in the presence of Dr. Abdullah Al-Murtadha, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Mohammed Hutrum, the General Secretary of the University, Professor Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Miqdad, the General Director of the Hospital, and members of the relevant committee.
The bid opening process was conducted in accordance with the legal procedures governing public tenders, ensuring transparency, integrity, and equal opportunities for all bidders. Following the completion of these procedures, the submitted bids were referred to the Technical and Financial Analysis Committee for review, evaluation, and selection of the most suitable offer based on the approved technical specifications and the quality and efficiency standards outlined in the tender documents.
This step is a part of Thamar University's efforts to modernize the infrastructure of its university health sector and equip Al-Wihda University Teaching Hospital with state-of-the-art medical technologies. This will contribute to improving diagnostic quality, expediting examination procedures, expanding the range of treatment services provided to citizens, and supporting clinical and applied training programs for students in the university's medical and health colleges.
During the visit, the University Rector and his delegation inspected the workflow in several hospital departments. They received briefings on performance levels, services provided, and development needs. The Rector of the University commended the efforts of the hospital's administration and its technical and administrative staff, acknowledging their role in maintaining service continuity and advancing institutional modernization.
The event was attended by the General Director of the Directorate, Hashem Al-Warith, the General Director of the University Council, Abdulqader Al-Dailami, the General Director of Public Relations, Khaled Al-Eshawi, the Financial Director of the Hospital, Abdullah Al-Samawi, Abdullah Al-Sultan, the Head of the Nursing Authority, the Directors of the Accounts, Auditing, Procurement, Contracts and Tenders departments, a number of hospital leaders and staff, representatives of national companies that submitted bids, and a number of related parties.
