Al-Wihdah University Hospital launches the hepatitis vaccine for hospital workers

■ Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, and the General Director of the Health Office, Dr.Tariq Al-Khaiwani, and under the supervision of the General Director of the Hospital Professor Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Miqdad, Al-Wihdah University Hospital in Maabar launched today a comprehensive vaccination campaign for hospital workers with the hepatitis virus vaccine.
The campaign included doctors, technicians and administrators, as part of the health prevention and health awareness efforts for hospital workers to avoid the harms of infection, as they are the direct group that deals with infected patients.
At the launch, in the presence of the Chief Physician Dr. Sadiq Al-Zazaei, the Quality and Infection Control Officers Dr. Ahmed Al-Areeq and Dr. Saddam Rishan, the Head of the Nursing Authority, Abdullah Al-Sultan, and the Director of Medical Supplies, Hamid Al-Maybadi, Dr. Al-Muqdad praised the continuous support and effective contribution to implementing preventive programs for hospital workers, avoiding the harms of infection and limiting the spread of infection.
He pointed out that the vaccine provides protection for humans, for an average period of 25 years or more which represents a safety period for workers, and the vaccine will cover all workers.
Dr. Al-Miqdad urged all hospital workers to respond quickly, deal immediately with infected patients, and spread awareness among the community about the importance of taking the vaccine to try to get rid of hepatitis virus infection and avoid infection.
The event concluded with a speech by Dr. Al-Areeq, in which he explained the nature of the vaccine and its preventive importance for humans, and it is considered safe and in three stages.
