Al-Wihdah University Hospital Launches Nursing Skills Enhancement Training Course in Collaboration with Doctors Without Borders

■ Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Abdulsalam Al-Miqdad, the General Director of the Hospital, and as a part of a series of courses launched by the hospital at the beginning of the new year 1447, a specialized training course in nursing skills development was launched today at the Hospital's Maternity and Childhood Center in the city of Ma'bar.

The course targets the hospital's nursing staff, both male and female, and it is a part of a comprehensive plan for continuing education and training, implemented by the hospital administration in cooperation with Doctors Without Borders.

These ongoing courses are a part of the hospital's commitment to enhancing the efficiency of its medical, technical and nursing staff, equipping them with the latest knowledge and skills to enable them to provide high-quality healthcare services. They also provide a suitable training environment for medical students at Thamar University during their clinical studies.

At the opening ceremony, the Hospital's General Director, Professor Abdulsalam Al-Miqdad, delivered a keynote speech in which he emphasized the hospital's commitment to training and developing staff across various specialties.

He noted that 2025 is "Year of Training" at the hospital, given the pivotal role of continuous training in improving the quality of healthcare services and enhancing staff's ability to respond effectively to daily challenges, especially in light of the spread of diseases and epidemics.

From his part, the Trainer, Ahmed Badr, a Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Trainer, reviewed the latest scientific methods and modern techniques in infection control and nursing skills during the course while offering intensive practical programs aimed at keeping pace with developments in healthcare services.

From his part, the Hospital's Chief of Nursing, Mr. Abdullah Al-Sultan, indicated that the goal of this course is to enhance the capabilities of the nursing staff and keep abreast of developments in this vital field.

This will contribute to raising professional competence in dealing with daily health challenges, especially in light of the difficult circumstances facing the country.

The event was attended by the Hospital's Financial Director, Mr. Abdullah Al-Samawi, along with a number of medical and technical staff, including department heads and nurses. The event was met with remarkable interaction and great appreciation for such initiatives aimed at improving performance and advancing the level of health services at the hospital.
