The Graduate Studies Council at Thamar University Holds its Second Meeting for the Year 1448

■ In response to the directives of the Rector of Thamar University, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, regarding addressing the issues of graduate students through periodic meetings, the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council at Thamar University held its second meeting for the academic year 2026/2027 today. The meeting was chaired by the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Abdulkareem Ismail Zabiba, at the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Office.
The Council discussed a number of academic, research, and student-related matters and made the necessary decisions, most notably approving several titles and proposals for Master's theses and doctoral dissertations in the fields of water and environment, health and medical sciences, technology and artificial intelligence, institutional and educational development, and history and archaeology.
The Council also approved the academic descriptions for the PhD and Master's programs in the Department of Life Sciences and authorized the teaching of Master's students in the Physics Department at the College of Applied Sciences.
Regarding student affairs, the Council ratified the lists of accepted students in the Executive Master's and PhD programs in Public Administration and Local Development Management, and approved the lists of graduates from the Executive Master's programs at the College of Administrative Sciences. It also discussed several requests for exceptional extensions and readmissions for graduate students.
In addition to these and other matters, the Council emphasized the importance of continuing its regular meetings and addressing graduate student issues promptly to ensure the smooth progress of their academic journey and enhance the quality of graduate programs and scientific research at the university.
