Thamar University Explores Enhancing Practical Training for Postgraduate Students in Clinical Psychology

■ Thamar University discussed today with the administration of Al-Riyada Psychiatric Hospital opportunities to enhance academic and practical cooperation to support the training of postgraduate students in the Clinical Psychology program at the Faculty of Arts, linking academic qualifications with specialized professional practice.

This came during a meeting chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, and attended by Professor Dr. Abdulkarim Zabiba, the Vice-Rector for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, the Director of the University's Psychological Counseling Center, the University General Secretary, and a number of university leaders and relevant faculty members, along with Malik Al-Humaidi, the Director of Al-Riyada Psychiatric Hospital.

The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation between the university and the hospital, primarily providing training and practical application opportunities for postgraduate students in the clinical psychology program. This includes leveraging the clinical environment to develop their professional skills and enhance their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in field practice.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of building effective partnerships with specialized healthcare institutions. This will contribute to developing postgraduate programs, improving the quality of their outcomes, and providing a training environment that fosters professional development for students in the field of clinical psychology.
