March 6, 2024 ■ Under the slogan"The National Campaign for the Victory of Al-Aqsa, You are not Alone," Thamar University hosted Today the expanded meeting organized by the Ministry of Higher Education to honor the Directors of Activities at Thamar Universities. This event comes within the projects of the national vision to build the modern Yemeni state, under the auspices of Mr. Hussein Ali Hazeb, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Rector of Thamar University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi to honor the Activity Managers and evaluate the plan and programs of student activities for the year 1445, at this expanded meeting which was held at the Palestine Conference Hall on the Campus of Thamar University, in cooperation with Thamar University, Guinness, Al-Hikma, Al-Saeeda, and Science and Technology Universities. At the meeting, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the Educational Affairs Sector, Dr. Ghalib Al-Qanes, Prof. Dr. Abdulkarim Zabibah, the Vice-Rector of the University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, and Dr. Mohammed Hutram, the General Secartary of the University, and General Director of Activities at the Ministry of Higher Education, Abdulkarim Al-Dhahak. The meeting was opened with verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the Yemeni national anthem. The Vice-Rector of the University for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, informed the audience of the greetings of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, welcomed them and expressed his wishes for the success of the meeting. He praised the attention paid by the Higher Education leadership to sports activities and the choice of Thamar University to host this public meeting and touched upon the importance of student activities to start from Thamar University, remembering Al-Quds Al-Sharif, Palestine and the aggression imposed on it and Gaza and its suffering. He also expresses his great thanks to our wise leadership, represented by Commander Abdulmalik Al-Houthi, who encouraged us in the face of the Zionists, the Americans and the revolution of our Palestinian brothers. From his part, Dr. Al-Qanes thanked the Rector of Thamar University and his Deputy for Student Affairs for the good reception and hospitality and added that I thank the General Director of Activities, Al-Dhahak, who was able to achieve great success in meeting the needs of the Ministry, Implementing the vision of the political leadership in activating student activities, strengthening government programs in strengthening the faith identity, and paying attention to the events of the Al-Aqsa Flood. Dr. Al-Qanes said that it should be noted that the activities to be achieved are not limited to sports activity, but we have cultural, medical, Quranic and talent activities which are considered the nucleus for the restructuring of the University sports union, through which we can participate at the Arab and International levels. In addition, the General Director of activities in Higher Education presented a report on the activities of the Ministry, the achievements of his department, and the educational affairs sector, guided by documentary presentations and stated that all activities are documented in official reports on student activities at the Ministry and thanked Thamar University for this hosting and today was considered a historic day, as this activity is being held for the first time outside the Ministry of Higher Education. He added that an integrated plan for student activities for the year 1445 has been prepared, reviewed, and approved, which is a simultaneous plan that was delivered to all universities in order to start implementing it, and added that we were able to achieve 30 activities within one year, thanks to the efforts of Dr. Al-Qanes, the Undersecretary of the Educational Affairs Sector. He said that the activities of the year 1445, carried a big title which is the title of "The Flood of Al-Aqsa", he touched upon that the Guide presented to the competitions and activities is the first in fifty years, that training courses have been organized, and the qualification and training of students is still ongoing. He pointed out that the students also participated in social activities, including hygiene activities and a number of social services, stressing the ministry's intention to introduce the agriculture service, and train students on farming methods, including moving to the countryside to achieve this. He concluded by thanking Dr. Al-Haifi and Dr. Al-Rifai, who have performed a great task and a great achievement at the level of Thamar University and also thanked all other Universities in Thamar for their efforts with us to make these activities a success. The meeting, which witnessed the honoring of the Rector of Thamar University, his Deputy for Student Affairs, a number of Universities and their activities officials, was attended by a number of Deans of Colleges at Thamar University, a number of Academic and Administrative University Leaders, and Representatives of Universities participating in the meeting. On the other hand, the sidelines of the expanded meeting hosted by Thamar University, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Ghalib Al-Qanes, accompanied by the Vice-Rectors of the University for Graduate Studies and Student Affairs, the General Secretary of the University, and a number of University Leaders, inspected the Vice_Rector for Student Affairs, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Computing, and the Institute of Continuing Education to find out the difficulties, aspirations, listened to students' problems their ambitious and checked out the examination halls, laboratories in different Colleges and Institutes of the University.
