The Rector of Thamar University Participates in Graduation Project Discussions in the Civil Engineering Department as a Part of Student Science Week

■ The Faculty of Engineering at Thamar University witnessed today the discussion of several graduation projects by students of the Civil Engineering Department as a part of the Student Science Week for the academic year 2025-2026.

The event was held under the patronage and with the participation of the University Rector, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, reflecting the university's commitment to monitoring the outcomes of the educational process and enhancing the quality of engineering education.

During the discussion sessions, students presented their scientific and applied projects, which addressed a number of issues related to structural design, roads, concrete structures, and engineering project management. They offered engineering visions and solutions based on scientific principles and professional standards, reflecting the high level of academic training they received during their years of study.

A scientific committee comprised of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, Dr. Aref Murshed, Dr. Abdullah Al-Hamati, and Dr. Ali Abdulrazzaq evaluated the projects. The committee discussed the scientific and technical aspects of the projects and their relevance to real-world engineering needs and development requirements.

During the discussions, the University Rector emphasized that graduation projects are a significant indicator of students' academic and professional development. He noted the university's commitment to encouraging high-quality projects that combine academic learning with practical application, contributing to the development of engineering professionals capable of meeting the demands of the job market and participating in development and reconstruction efforts.

Furthermore, the committee members commended the high academic standard of the submitted projects and their innovative engineering solutions and practical ideas, which demonstrated the students' ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems and transform them into feasible solutions.

From his part, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, during his inspection visit to the discussion halls, praised the outstanding level of the graduation projects presented by civil engineering students. He emphasized that these projects reflect the quality of the educational process at the Faculty of Engineering and the students' ability to apply their academic knowledge to provide engineering solutions that serve the community and meet development requirements.

Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, the Rector's Assistant for Centers Affairs, indicated that the university is keen to support creativity and innovation and encourage high-quality projects that contribute to preparing qualified engineering professionals capable of competing and contributing in various engineering fields.

These discussions, which were attended by Dr. Mohammed hutrum, the University General Secretary, and Jamal Al-Bahri, the Head of the Media and Public Relations Department, come within the framework of the Faculty of Engineering at Thamar University's efforts to promote applied scientific research and develop students' creativity and innovation skills.
