Faculty Dean's Speech
I welcome you with the most beautiful welcome at the Faculty of Engineering, which was and still is a beacon that illuminates everyone and a source of knowledge from which everyone can get.
The Faculty of Rngineering, Thamar University was established in 1998 and today includes four Bachelor-Level programs: Architecture 1998, Civil Engineering 1999, Mechanical Engineering 2006-2012, and Mechatronics Engineering 2019. Since its establishment, the Faculty Engineering has set its sights on achieving excellence in Engineering Education and Scientific Research in order to embody its vision and achieve its mission of serving the community.
From this point of view and believing that the success of Universities in performing their scientific and societal roles will ensure the success of its mission in building a generation of graduates capable of carrying responsibility and advancing society, Engineering Faculty has worked hard to attract distinguished Faculty members from inside and outside the country upon establishment to become 100% local cadres since 2011, and has worked to develop its study plans since establishment in line with the developments of the times, until we become able to see the graduates of Engineering Faculty take important positions inside and outside Yemen, the Faculty will soon be baptized to obtain local academic accreditation for the Architecture and Civil Engineering Programs, InshaAllah.
Engineering Sciences in this time have become many complex challenges, but also many opportunities and alternatives, and we live in an open world including communication, influence and mutual influence, and on this basis, we seek during our leadership of the College to become a College policy of openness to the industry to provide its graduates with the necessary skills to keep abreast of the tremendous developments in the labor market, and the Deanship of the College will work to enrich, develop and update its educational programs as mentioned above, in cooperation with the best Engineering Companies in the country specialized in various engineering fields, in order to draw the attention and awareness of our students to the need to Engineering Novelties to help them Self-discovery and sense of responsibility, develop the ability to observe and curiosity, training to provide alternative solutions, and improve the level of decision-making to adapt to the requirements of the local and regional labor market.
Bringing up these things, while we are raising generations of Engineers is one of the goals that the Faculty of Engineering will strive for under our leadership InshaAllah, and may our students know that we will give practical and training matters special importance by embodying them in their daily lives according to the possibilities available to us. May Allah grant us to serve our students and our community and provide everything that is useful and new to them so that we embody on the ground our vision that aims at excellence in education and community service.
