As a part of Student Scientific Week, the Faculty of Engineering at Thamar University Discusses Dozens of Applied Engineering Projects

■ The Student Scientific Week activities continued today at the Faculty of Engineering, Thamar University, with discussions of graduation projects for the 2025-2026 academic year. The event was held under the patronage of the University Rector, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, reflecting the university's commitment to encouraging applied scientific research and enhancing the role of student projects in serving development and meeting the needs of the labor market.

The Civil Engineering Department hosted several scientific discussion sessions for graduation projects. The first committee comprised Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, Dr. Fouad Al-Jermouzi, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Junaid, while the second committee consisted of Dr. Abdullah Abbas, Dr. Rashid Al-Sanfi, and Dr. Saleh Al-Sanbani.

These discussions are a part of a scientific program that will continue throughout this week and includes various academic departments within the Faculty of Engineering. The Civil Engineering Department is hosting 104 students across 22 projects, while 21 students from the Architectural Engineering Department are presenting their research projects, and 31 students from the Mechatronics Engineering Department are participating with seven graduation projects.

The discussion sessions, which began on December 27, 2020 (27 Thu Al-Hijjah 1447) and will continue until January 2, 2020 (2 Muharram 1448), are scheduled to continue. Students will present their projects, which address engineering solutions and innovative ideas that reflect the scientific and applied knowledge and skills they have acquired in their respective fields.

The Student Science Week embodies the College of Engineering's commitment to fostering an environment of creativity and academic excellence, and to developing students' research and applied capabilities. This contributes to preparing qualified engineering professionals capable of actively participating in development and construction efforts.

The discussion sessions were attended by Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, The Rector's Assistant for Centers Affairs, and Ali Al-Thumrani, the General Secretary of the College, along with a number of academic leaders, faculty members, and students.
