The Faculty of Engineering at Thamar University Launches Student Scientific Week for Graduation Project Discussions

■ This morning, the Faculty of Engineering at Thamar University launched its Student Scientific Week for graduation project discussions for 2025-2026 academic year. The event was held under the patronage of the University Rector, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi.
The opening session was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Fouad Al-Jermouzi, the University General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Hutrum, the Faculty General Secretary, Ali Al-Dhumrani, as well as a number of academic leaders, faculty members, and students.
This initiative reflects the university's commitment to enhancing the outcomes of engineering education and aligning them with the demands of development and the job market.
The first discussion committee, held in the Civil Engineering Department, consisted of the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Fouad Al-Jermouzi, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Abbas, the Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Rashid Al-Sanfi, and Dr. Saleh Al-Sanbani.
During the launch, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Fouad Al-Jermouzi, emphasized the importance of graduation projects as a scientific and applied milestone that culminates the students' academic journey and reflects the engineering knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout their years of study. He noted the keen interest of the university leadership, represented by its Rector, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, and the college leadership in encouraging innovation and creativity and transforming scientific ideas into projects that contribute to serving the community and addressing developmental challenges.
The Dean explained that the graduation project presentations will continue throughout the week, encompassing the various academic departments within the college. The Civil Engineering Department has 104 students participating across 22 graduation projects, while the Architectural Engineering Department has 21 students presenting 21 projects. Additionally, 31 students from the Mechatronics Engineering Department are participating with 7 graduation projects.
Discussions of graduation projects will continue from Thu Al-Hijjah 27, 1447to 2 Muharram 1448, with the participation of students from the Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering departments. The projects will showcase innovative engineering solutions and ideas, reflecting the high level of scientific and practical skills students have achieved in their respective disciplines.
The Student Science Week is organized as a part of the Faculty of Engineering at Thamar University's efforts to develop students' research and applied capabilities, and to promote a culture of innovation and academic excellence, thereby contributing to the preparation of qualified engineering professionals capable of actively participating in the development and construction process.
