Amidst Competition From 613 Students, Thamar University Conducts Entrance Exams for the General Program at the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics

■ This morning, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, inaugurated the entrance exams for applicants to the general program at the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics for the academic year 1448. A total of 613 students competed for 100 places in the Computer Science and Information Technology departments. This is a part of the university's admission procedures to select deserving students according to the approved selection criteria.

The exams were conducted in a calm and organized atmosphere within the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics buildings on campus. Seven examination committees were distributed across three centers, ensuring a suitable examination environment that guarantees equal opportunities for all applicants.

During the launch, the University Rector commended the organizational efforts of the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics, as well as the high level of coordination and collaboration with the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs in preparing for the entrance exams. This contributed to their smooth and organized execution, reflecting the university's commitment to transparency and fairness in the admissions and selection process.

Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi also offered several pieces of advice and guidance to the applicants, urging them to exert their utmost effort and to view the entrance exam as an opportunity to showcase their academic abilities. He emphasized that these exams are an important tool for assessing students' potential and helping them choose specializations that align with their interests and capabilities, enabling them to achieve excellence, innovation, and make effective contributions to society and the job market.

From his part, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, explained that the opportunity remains open for students who were not accepted through the regular admissions system to enroll in the parallel or private expense programs, whether in the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics or in other faculties of the university, including the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, the Faculty of Applied Sciences, and other faculties where registration and admission are still open. He urged students to take advantage of the available opportunities to complete their university enrollment procedures.

In turn, the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics, Professor Dr. Bashir Al-Maqaleh, expressed his appreciation for the attention of the university leadership, represented by the University Rector and his Deputy for Student Affairs, and their continuous follow-up on the various activities implemented by the faculty. He emphasized the importance of the existing cooperation and coordination between the faculty deanship and the student affairs office, which contributed to the success of the registration procedures and entrance exams. He also welcomed the new students, wishing them success in their exams and hoping they would be a valuable addition to the faculty's academic journey.

The launch of the exams was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Rector's Assistant for Centers Affairs, Professor Essam Wasel, the University General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Hutrum, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics for Student Affairs, Dr. Khaled Al-Hussaini, the Registrar, Abdulmalik Al-Muallami, the Faculty General Secretary, Bandar Al-Duhmli, as well as a number of faculty and administrative staff members, and university and faculty leaders and personnel.
