Amidst an atmosphere of enthusiasm and challenge, Thamar University launches sports competitions

■ In an exceptional sports atmosphere and under the patronage of the Rector of the University, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the activities of the sports, cultural and scientific activities course for the academic year 1446, were launched today under the slogan "Ten Years of Steadfastness in the Face of Saudi-American Aggression".
This event organized by the General Administration of Youth Care in the Student Affairs Department and the University Student Forum, comes within the framework of the university's commitment to enhancing the competitive spirit and national values among Thamar University students to revive the manifestations of victory, steadfastness and support for Palestine.
Inaugurating the tournament, which was titled "With Gaza and Lebanon until Victory", the University Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, and his deputy for student affairs, Prof. Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, inaugurated the event in the presence of Dr. Bashir Al-Maqaleh, the Dean of the College of Computers, Dr. Salah Al-Qawsi, Deputy Dean of Continuing Education, Mishaal Sharhan, the Assistant General Secretary for Financial Affairs, Abdulmalik Al-Muallimi, the General Registrar at the University, Ali Al-Aoush, the General Director of Youth and Sports in the governorate, Ahmed Al-Omari, the General Director of Activities at the University, Bandar Al-Dahmali, Secretary of the College of Computers, Mohammed Al-Badawi, the Secretary of the College of Medical Sciences, Majed Al-Washli, the General Director General of the University Rector's Office, Khaled Al-Ashawi, the General Director of Public Relations, and a large number of students and representatives of the University Student Forum, in an atmosphere characterized by enthusiasm and great interaction.
The sports competitions kicked off with an exciting opening match between the teams of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology and the College of Medical Sciences. The match witnessed complete control by the College of Computer Science team, which presented a distinguished performance that demonstrated its football superiority, ending the match with a big win with a score of six goals to two, reflecting the team's high readiness and the promising level expected from it in the rest of the tournament.
At the launch, the University Rector, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, praised these initiatives that aim to develop the sports, cultural and scientific aspects of students, stressing that the tournament is not just a sports competition, rather it is a message of solidarity with national and nationalist issues most notably supporting Gaza and Lebanon.
The activities of the first day of the tournament concluded in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and optimism, amidst praise from the attendees for the distinguished organization and high competitive spirit between the teams.
