Thamar University hosts a Scientific Seminar on Concrete Additives and Insulation Systems Thamar University Media / Jamal Al-Bahri / Shaaban 5, 1445. February 15, 2024 In order to enhance cooperation between academics at Thamar University and practitioners in the construction industry, a Scientific Seminar entitled "Concrete Additives and Insulation Systems" was held today at Thamar University under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University. The seminar was organized by the Head of the Engineering Advisory Center at Thamar University, Dr. Mohammed Juaim, in cooperation with Master Builders Solutions Company and Al-Ddar Al-Mimar for Engineering Construction which was attended by Engineer Nabil Abdullah Al-Haifi, the Chairman of the Road Maintenance Fund in the Republic. At the seminar, which opened with verses from the Wise Thikr and the reading of Surah Al-Fatiha to the souls of the martyrs of Yemen and Palestine, attended by the Vice-Rectors of the University, Prof. Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, the Rector of the University welcomed his distinguished guests and wishing the seminar success. The Rector of Thamar University spoke about the coincidence of this scientific seminar with the anniversary of the martyrdom of the founding leader, Mr. Hussein Badr Al-Deen Al-Houthi and the Martyr President Saleh Al-Samad, and also coinciding with the fierce war of extermination led by the American, British and the Israeli entity on our country Yemen and our second country Palestine. In addition, Dr. Al-Haifi made an important engineering intervention at the symposium in his capacity as a professor of civil engineering, in which he touched on recent research that dealt with the topic of concrete additives, insulation materials, modern insulation requirements, and technical modern additions in the field of construction. He also touched upon the role of the outputs of the Faculty of Engineering at Thamar University in supplying the national market with academic experts, outstanding engineering skills, as well as in involving the labor market from factories and private companies in studies, discussions, and even in identifying and directing research, studies, and scientific seminars. From his part, Engineer Nabil Al-Moayyed, the Deputy Chairman of the Road Maintenance Fund, spoke about the treatment of concrete of new or old types. He said that we hope to come out of this seminar with recommendations that contribute to the development of modern skills to improve the quality of concrete, which contributes to improving the quality of inputs in construction, to obtain more strong and durable concrete materials. From his part, Dr. Mohammed Juaim wished that this scientific symposium would succeed in achieving applicable scientific benefits in the field of construction and work on a positive change that will benefit the attending participants who number hundreds. Moreover, Engineer Daniel Touma, an expert in the field of construction additives, spoke to the seminar, which was attended by Engineer Nabil Taha Al-Mahbashi, online from the Lebanese Republic where the first axis of the seminar dealt with the topic of concrete additives, the definition of sustainable and durable concrete, the factors that affect its sustainability, and also touched on the physical and chemical factors that affect the durability of concrete. In the second axis, Engineer Mohammed Hassan Makki spoke about the importance of insulation systems, their types, and modern contributions to their industry. Engineer Mohammed Yousef Al-Khawlani, consultant in insulation chemicals also spoke about bituminous insulation, acrylic insulation, polymer, epoxy insulation, in addition to insulation with rolls and lining. At the end of the seminar, Engineer Makki was honored For his contribution to finding solutions related to the field of concrete additives and insulation systems. The Rector of the University expressed his thanks and appreciation to everyone for their contribution to the success of the symposium and achieving its goals. The seminar, which was attended by Dr. Mohammed Hutram, the General Secartary of Thamar University, and a number of Academic and Administrative Leaders at the University, was concluded with the participation of Dr. Ahmed Al-Junaid, the Rector of Al-Saeeda University, Engineer Samir Al-Muhajji, the General Director of Planning in the Governorate, as well as the Coordinator of the Seminar, Ahmed Al-Asser, as attended by a large number of graduates of the College of Engineering, and students of recent years from the College of Engineering, by holding a discussion session on the important recommendations collected and recorded on the seminar paper, which are important additions and references for specialists in the field of concrete additives, insulation systems. This scientific symposium on concrete additives and insulation systems is an important occasion to discuss developments and innovations in this field, promotes cooperation between academics and practitioners in the construction industry and contributes to improving the quality of infrastructure and buildings, increasing durability and sustainability.
