■ The Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center at Thamar University, in cooperation with the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, launched a training workshop today entitled "Developing the Skills of Users of Thamar University ERP System, Faculty of Administrative Sciences." The workshop aimed to enhance the capabilities of academic and administrative staff in effectively using the system and benefiting from its services in managing academic and financial operations.

The workshop was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Rector of the University, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, the Rector's Assistant for Centers Affairs, and Professor Dr. Amal Mohammed Al-Mujahid, the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative Sciences. The workshop took place at the Center for Economic Studies, Consultations, and Administrative Training.

In his address, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai emphasized the importance of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in developing university operations. He pointed out the system's capabilities in unifying and managing financial and educational services, and linking student academic and financial data and transactions within an accurate, transparent, and professional electronic system.

The Director of the University's Systems Unit, Engineer Mohammed Ahmed Al-Ziyadi, then presented an explanation of the system's mechanism and procedures. He clarified how faculty members and their assistants can be granted access to enter, review, and electronically confirm students' monthly and semester grades and coursework through the system.

The workshop began with a welcoming address by the Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences, Professor Dr. Amal Al-Mujahid, followed by an introduction to the workshop's objectives, work procedures, and discussion, presented by the Vice Dean of the Academic Development Center, Dr. Rashid Al-Sanfi.

The theoretical component of the workshop, presented by Engineer Mohammed Ahmed Al-Ziyadi, included an introduction to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and their importance in developing administrative work. It also covered the system interface, usage mechanisms and permissions, data management and input/update procedures, the use of system modules related to administrative, financial, and academic processes, report and query generation, and utilizing system outputs. Information security and user management were also addressed.

The practical component included training exercises on system procedures and mechanisms for implementing various processes. It also featured a discussion of the most prominent challenges and proposed solutions for developing the use of the ERP system at the university, with the participation of Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Mujahid, Engineer Mohammed Al-Ziyadi, and Engineer Iftikhar Abdulaziz.

The workshop was attended by the Vice Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hussein Al-Munajar, the heads of academic departments, the Head of the Training Unit at the Academic Development Center, Dr. Ahmed Al-Farasi, the General Secretary of the College of Administrative Sciences, Abdullah Rajih, the General Secretary of the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, Nasser Najad, and a number of specialists and academic and administrative staff from the college.
