■ The Faculty of Education at Thamar University, in coordination with the University Student Forum, organized a women's cultural seminar entitled "The Importance of Commemorating the Prophet's Birthday," under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Hassan Al-Haifi, the Rector of Thamar University, and in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hadi, and a number of faculty members, academics, and students.
This seminar was part of the cultural and awareness program implemented by the university in preparation for the Prophet's Birthday celebrations for the year 1448.
At the opening of the symposium, the Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hadi, welcomed the attendees, emphasizing that commemorating the Prophet's birthday is an opportunity to strengthen the connection with the Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), to draw inspiration from his noble life and humanitarian values in building the individual and society, and to instill virtuous morals and a strong sense of faith among students.
He also pointed out that the College of Education, based on its academic and educational mission, is committed to developing awareness among female students and preparing generations who embrace knowledge as a mission, identity as a source of pride, and the homeland as a responsibility, inspired by the words of God Almighty: { لقد كان لكم في رسول اللّه أسوة حسنة }.
In her presentation, Ms. Amina Al-Amadi, the Director of the Women's Awareness Department at the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance office in Dhamar Governorate, addressed the status of the Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) as a role model and exemplary figure. She emphasized that the Holy Quran is the primary source for understanding his character and message, and that commemorating this occasion embodies love and reverence for the Prophet, strengthens faith, and encourages active participation in the activities and events held on this blessed occasion.
Ms. Tahani Al-Mehaqari, a member of the Women's Authority, also discussed the importance of commemorating the Prophet's birthday, highlighting the opportunity it presents to solidify the values of love and emulation of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and to enhance religious awareness within the community.
From her part, Samia Al-Handhi, a member of the Women's Committee, addressed the importance of celebrating the Prophet's birthday from a Quranic perspective. She refuted the most prominent misconceptions surrounding the commemoration of this occasion, emphasizing that honoring the Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), expressing love for him, and following his noble example are values encouraged by the Holy Quran and the Prophet's Sunnah.
This seminar is part of a series of cultural and awareness-raising activities organized by Thamar University and its colleges in cooperation with the University Student Forum in preparation for commemorating the Prophet's birthday. This initiative reflects the university's commitment to strengthening cultural awareness and faith-based identity, and to instilling Prophetic values among its members, in line with its academic and educational mission of developing individuals and preparing scientific and national leaders.
