The Rector of Thamar University Commends the Scientific Achievements of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Emphasizes the Importance of Expanding Graduate Programs

■ Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi,  the Rector of Thamar University, commended the academic standing of the Faculty of Applied Sciences and its distinguished academic and research capabilities. He emphasized the importance of utilizing this scientific expertise to enhance graduate programs and expand opportunities for enrollment in specialized scientific fields.

This came during a visit to the faculty, accompanied by Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, the Rector's Assistant for Centers Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Hutrum, the General Secretary of the University, Jamal Al-Bahri, the Head of Media and Public Relations Department, and several other university leaders.

During the visit, the University Rector met with the Dean of the College, Dr. Abdulqawi Dabwan, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Hussein Al-Khalil, and a number of faculty members and academic and administrative leaders. They exchanged greetings and congratulations on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha and reviewed the most prominent scientific and academic activities implemented by the college.

The meeting addressed several topics related to increasing enrollment in the college's undergraduate and graduate programs, and mechanisms for utilizing the available capacity to accommodate a larger number of students in scientific and applied disciplines needed by the job market and various development sectors.

The discussion also touched upon ways to develop graduate programs and expand scientific research in specialized applied fields, thereby enhancing the college's role in providing society with qualified professionals and impactful scientific research.

The University Rector commended the high academic standards of the college, praising the contributions of its faculty members and researchers and their scientific and academic efforts, which have made the university one of the most prestigious scientific institutions in the country. He also highlighted the college's role in preparing distinguished graduate students in specialized applied fields.

Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi emphasized that the College of Applied Sciences is a cornerstone of the university's scientific and research progress, and that supporting its programs and expanding its academic and research activities aligns with the university's commitment to promoting academic excellence, scientific research, and community service.
