A Morning Festival with a Book (Shortly Before Morning) Thamar University/ Saqr Abu Hassan /Jumad Awal 26, 1445. December 9, 2023 ■ Sponsored by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, the President of the University, the Department of Libraries, Printing, Publishing and Translation at Thamar University organized today a morning celebration of the storybook (Shortly Before the Morning) for a number of writers of the Qantara creative project in the framework of Yemeni solidarity with Palestine. In the morning festival, the Rector of the University pointed out the importance of the University hosting various literary and cultural events. He stressed that the University's responsibility is not limited to teaching and research, but also social service which is hosting literary and cultural events and organizing them is one of those services provided by the University to the community. He pointed out that the effectiveness comes in light of the continuation of the Israeli aggression against innocent people in the Gaza Strip, after the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation which restored the balance in the world again. In addition, Dr. Essam Wasel, the Head of the Department of Libraries, Printing, Publishing and Translation at Thamar University explained that the writer of literature contributes to raising community awareness on public issues. He said that literature should be written in a time of ugliness and destruction for something beautiful, especially when it is a mature creative work replete with societal issues. He pointed out that the title of the book" A Little Before the Morning " confirms that there will inevitably be a morning. He pointed out that Thamar University is an arena for cultural workshops and any literary act. From his part, the Vice-Rector of Thamar University for Higher Studies, Dr. Abdulkarim Zabibah referred to organize the psychological counseling center at Thamar University literary events in the field of story and literary work, in order to link the literary field with creativite and the field of psychology. Calling for intensifying literary, intellectual, and cultural events for their importance in the advancement of society and raising knowledge and intellectual values. Hamed Al-Faqih, the Director of the Qantara Creative Project, showed during the event that the book is the summary of a beautiful experience that included (30) writers who wrote for love, peace, and goodness from different literary generations. He added that we expect next year to have a second generation of the Qantara project. The event witnessed readings by some of the participants in the book and a critical reading by Dr. Mohammed Moqbel Amer, the Professor of Rhetoric and Criticism at the Faculty of Arts. At the end of the event which was attended by the Vice-Rectors of the University and his Consultant of Cultural Affairs, a number of University Leaders, and the Leaders of the Executive Offices in the Governorate, the participants in the book of the Qantara Creative Project were honored. https://www.tu.edu.ye/index.php/site/views/academic-affairs/2542/2522
