Thamar University Holds Training Workshop to Promote Contemporary University Teaching Strategies and Faith Identity

■ Under the patronage of the Rector of Thamar University, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Haifi, the Academic Development Center hall hosted a training workshop on Saturday morning titled "Contemporary University Teaching Strategies and Promoting Faith Identity for Faculty Members Teaching University Requirements Courses." The workshop was organized by the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance with broad participation from faculty members and their assistants.

The workshop was dedicated to instructors of courses in Islamic Culture, National Culture, Arabic Language, Computer Science and English Language. It included more than forty trainees from the academic staff. Its topics covered university teaching methods and strategies, the design of lecture plans and study units, the use of educational technologies, student learning assessment and faculty skills within the university classroom.

In his opening remarks, the University Rector welcomed the participants, praising the role of the Quality Center and the Heads of Academic Units in enhancing the efficiency of the educational process. He emphasized the importance of the workshop in developing the capabilities of faculty members and honing their skills to keep pace with the requirements of modern university education.

The workshop was taught by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Masoud Al-Hadi, who presented topics including teaching strategies, course design, modern educational technologies and student learning assessment skills. Dr. Yahya Al-Mawshki addressed the topic of faith identity in the university education environment.

The workshop program focused on enabling participants to understand the concept of university teaching and the role of faculty members in university-required courses, while strengthening students' faith identity and Islamic values through appropriate pedagogical methods.

The training also included the application of various strategies for traditional and modern teaching, the design of stimulating lecture plans and interactive units, the use of educational technologies and e-learning platforms to support the educational process and the adoption of effective and diverse assessment methods to measure and improve student learning outcomes.

The workshop was attended by Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Adel Abdulghani Al-Ansi, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Essam Wasil, the Head of the Libraries Department, Mr. Hassan Al-Mawshki, the Consultant of the Rector for Cultural Affairs, Mr. Jamal Al-Bahri, the Head of the Media and Public Relations Department, and Nasser Najad, the General Secretary of the Center. The workshop concluded with the honoring of the participants and the awarding of certificates of participation.
