The Parallel System Entrance Exams Launched at the Faculty of Medicine, Thamar University

■ In a competitive and well-organized academic atmosphere, the Rector of Thamar University, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Haifi, along with the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Abdullah Al-Murtada, launched the entrance exams for applicants competing for seats in the parallel system at the Faculty of Medicine this morning. 355 applicants are competing for 46 available places.
During the launch, the University Rector emphasized that the smooth organization of the exams reflects the outstanding level of coordination and cooperation between the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Faculty of Medicine. He commended the technical and administrative arrangements made to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination process, upholding the principle of equal opportunity for all applicants and aligning with the university's commitment to enhancing academic admissions mechanisms.
He assured those who were not successful that the opportunity remains open to them through the option of enrolling in the private-tuition system or in other educational programs at the medical and applied colleges.
From his part, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Abdulkafi Al-Rifai, explained that the examination procedures were meticulously prepared to guarantee fairness and transparency, ensuring that each applicant receives what they deserve based on their academic level and effort. He noted that the university will open the appeals process for applicants after the initial results are announced, before finalizing and announcing the results.
From his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Abdullah Al-Murtada, welcomed the students taking the entrance exams, wishing them success and emphasizing the importance of adhering to the exam regulations and guidelines. He also reminded the candidates of the admission requirements and the academic program requirements at the Faculty of Medicine, Thamar University, the first faculty in the Republic of Yemen to receive academic accreditation, which contributes to achieving distinguished educational outcomes that meet the needs of the medical sector and society.
The inauguration was attended by the Assistant to the University Rector for Centers Affairs, Professor Dr. Essam Wasel, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Student Affairs, Dr. AbduIlah Al-Adhruei, the General Secretary of the Faculty, Mr. Ali Al-Bakhrani, and a number of other academic and administrative leaders and staff.
